Frequent Failure Of Local Pickup Listings

Having had three winning  bidders disappointed in one week, and three listings wasted, I decided it's time to suggest improvements to the eBaY listing process. The problem is that bidders do not see my notice in the description "LOCAL PICKUP ONLY  - NO DOMESTIC OR INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING". I will now add "NO SHIPPING" to the listing title as well, which may help. I know this is a significant problem, based on the number of sellers complaining about it.  A possible solution: On local pickup only listings, change eBay logic to challenge every bidder on an auction listing or buyer on a fixed price listing. Maybe something like "Are you aware this item must be picked up by buyer at the location designated by seller and will not be shipped." Give them the option to continue or cancel. The current methodology is not workable, as people are clearly not reading shipping options or descriptions.

You may want to consider putting "Pickup only: Iowa" in your title.

Keep in mind that users on the eBay app may not see the entire title when searching, and may have problems viewing item descriptions. Long titles often are truncated in search results, so putting that at the end of a long title may not be visible to all potential buyers.

It is in your interest as a seller to do what you can to avoid a situation where a user does not realize that your item is pickup only.

eBay adding an additional dialog box to emphasize that there is no shipping is not a bad idea at all, but I have no idea if eBay would actually consider doing that.
