Forcing immediate payments

From the Spring 2013 Seller Update:

To help reduce unpaid items, eligible fixed price and auction-style listings purchased with Buy It Now will now remain for sale until a buyer has paid for the item. This change will take effect gradually over the coming months.

Forcing immediate payments

When ebay uses constant overrides of their listing parameter "choices" they provide a disservice to sellers and buyers alike.  The selling forms we meticulously set up and tweak for our business model, only to have those choices overridden by some arbitrary algorithm, create ill will and dissatisfaction.  It can take hours of work to set up our selling terms.  To find that they are nullified by something that may or may not be "ebay" enforced is just bad juju.  Defaults and choices are 2 different things, and ebay can't seem to get this straight all over their buggy site.

Forcing immediate payments

An interesting read in the post on May 23 at 10:49 am on the Visitor Posts on the Ebay For Business Facebook page.

I don't want to copy/paste here because the Ebay people posting there might not like it.

Yes, and it's a technical issue.  Pretty much all of the recent problems ebay brought upon themselves, and their clients, are technical issues.

They start scratching at a mosquito bite, turn that to a welt, becomes a bout of never-ending hives.  Hey, let's spread some calamine all over that itch and hope it gives some relief, instead it gums things up even more, and clouds any vision of reality. Their brand of calamine lotion won't wash off no matter how hard you scrub.  It just exposes a new rash, and becomes a contagious disease on every branch of the incessantly tweaked and unclarified or completely undisclosed updates.

Now I  understand why my buyers would not wait for a final invoice before paying for multiple purchases.  They couldn't.   These conflicts make sellers look bad, because our terms say one thing and ebay forces the opposite.  We comment about how our buyers can't read, or that they ignore our suggestions to pay for all purchases over ebay's recommended 30 days to pay, but in fact, ebay is not even giving them a chance to pay for combined shipments on one invoice.  What a crock.  @Anonymous  disingenuous and outright stupid.
