For one week, pictures will not load in Messages. eBay has NOT fixed in one week.

Pictures will not load in Messages.  This problem has been ongoing for nearly one week.  EBay was notified days ago; I was told eBay was aware of the problem as many reported it.  The rep said the problem would be fixed within 24 hours.   It has not been fixed.  

How are sellers supposed to communicate with buyers and send additional, requested photos?

Some users seem to be able to work around the problem by going to the user's profile or feedback page, choosing contact, composing a new message there. If you are asked which item the message is about, choose "not about an item". Then attach your image.
