'File a report' function broken.

As the title suggest, the dropdown box is empty on the File a Report page. This has been broken for quite long and it is so simple technically to make it work on any device that there is no other explanation than malice. No one is this incompetent. This is done by design. This is why we have 50$ items with 500$ postage still spammed in eBay. Really makes me think if it is worth it anymore, if i need to check for landmines while i browse, i might as well use Ali Baba.

I don't think customer service can give any kind of advice. And yes, usual clearing caches, incognito mode etc have been tested. Latest updates on both OS and and the browser. Dropdown menus really are not that hard to do. I think it is one of the first lessons in community college website building courses..

The arrowheads sometimes do not work, just click on the text already in the box, it should give you the list.

The "Report item" feature is working for me, so the idea that eBay has purposely hobbled the feature because eBay does not want users to submit reports does not really explain anything.

 

If eBay did not care about reports, it would make more sense for eBay to allow anyone to submit a report, and then just ignore those reports, rather than providing an intentionally broken function to prevent users from submitting them in the first place.

I have seen posts from some users that are having problems with the drop-down items not appearing, including one user with two eBay accounts where one account seems to work and the other does not. The problem does not seem to be universal, or affecting every user (or account).

This has literally been broken for years for me as well. Happens in all browsers.

Try using another device to rule out device issues.

 

Do you have more than one eBay account? Try reporting using another account.

 

Or try reporting on ebay.ca instead of ebay.com.
