Exaggerated number of views

Items typically getting only 2-10 views per 10 day listing suddenly show 60 views - on multiple items, all within one day. Is there a problem with the counting? Robotic views? I know these items haven't all (dozens) suddenly gone viral popular?

The last listing of mine opened with 79 views. That was after one second of being listed. Don't believe the numbers anymore. They're meaningless.

any idea if the company is doing something about this - or doing something to cause it? It's only been happening for the past week or so, I think?
