Major issue with eBay’s version of tracking. They contain phantom entries, the most egregious being “usps awaits item” being posted AFTER usps has the item. This entry does not exist on usps.com official tracking-it’s an eBay glitch. I am dealing with numerous customer complaints and accusations daily because buyers think I have not shipped their item. I have reported this 6 times now, including walking the reps through the problem. They claim they’ve taken screen shots and sent them to IT. Still, the problem persists months later. Is this how we do business “together”. I have to tell the customer my business partner is an idiot who can’t simply mimic another company’s tracking. Is this what we wish to convey to the buyer? The buyer we both need? You’re doing both the buyer and the seller a disservice and at this point I can only assume you are simply refusing to address the problem.

The tracking for eBay International shipping is the worst.
Once it gets to the eBay shipping center, the last thing I usually see is "Closed Bag" and then "Scanned Into Sack Container". From there it's headed to who knows where and tracking updates are rare and sometimes never posted.
I just have to wait for customers to complain but assume delivery was made if I don't hear from them.

The USPS does use the status "Awaiting item". Here's an example from the USPS website:

Yes, but not AFTER they have the item. I was very specific. Below is eBay’s tracking. Notice it’s AFTER the item is in usps possession. The second screen shot is the same tracking from usps. Notice the “awaits item” isn’t there. The eBay entry is AFTER they have the item in their possession.
