Ebay's 'Oops that's NOT a match' response to CORRECT password and ARE YOU HUMAN? images

Took long hiatus during lockdowns. Finally logged in after long break. Successfully. But then ebay prompted me to verify my phone and email and then when I was confirming they didnt changed, it took me to logging in again with the same info then repeatedly says the same correct password 'ISNT A MATCH' and makes me prove IM HUMAN then says i failed.

Whats with the mind games even here or is it par for course given Paypal, Zucker & Silitown clown world 2021?

Repeated sign-in requests might be a sign that your browser is not accepting cookies, or one of your eBay cookies is blocked or corrupt. Sometimes manually erasing just your eBay cookies can help, though every time you erase your cookies you will have to sign-in again.

If you are getting a failed sign-in with a saved password, it is possible that you are using (or eBay is sending you to) an old sign-in link -- possibly one with a different password saved. Try entering your password manually, and make sure you keyboard is working properly (check the batteries if it is wireless). Be sure to wait for the sign-in page to load completely before attempting to sign in.

Occasionally eBay will send me to a random sign-in page that seems to fail consistently the first time I try it, but it works the second time. If this keeps happening, try another browser to see if that allows you to get past the faulty sign-in. At that point, once you have updated or verified your credentials, you should be able to return to your original browser.

Try using a different sign-in link to sign in to eBay, such as by going to ebay.com and signing in there, or bookmarking your Watch List page after you sign in again.

If you find yourself stuck in a sign-in loop, you may be able to click on the eBay logo to go to the main eBay page -- in some cases it may indicate that you are already signed in at that point.

If you are blocking third party cookies (or using Enhanced Tracking Protection in Firefox), try disabling that setting on the sign-in page. Disabling ad blockers on the sign in or verification pages can help as well, as sometimes these can interfere with verification.

Snakeplant is not alone, we have three acounts in our household and all the same problem, stuck in an endless loop, between "Captcha" and sign in with "sorry that's not a match" when it clearly is correct, tried deleteing data and cookies etc,  different PC's, different browsers, even ipad and still same problem SO it is not cookie related, i managed to contact ebay through another source, and they telephoned me back (from usa) but 2 mins in it was cut off. does anybody from EBAY actually read these comments as there are thousands with this same problem....get a fix Ebay and sort it out

This is a user forum; eBay is not responding here except to make announcements or policy.

Many users are still able to sign in directly to ebay.co.uk with username and password, so not everyone is having the same problem.

Some users are apparently able to successfully get from the UK Community pages to ebay.co.uk using the My eBay link under the profile picture in the upper right corner of a community page.

If you have previously accessed your eBay account through a Google, Facebook or Apple account at the sign-in screen, try that again -- but be careful not to accidentally create a new account that way.

If you have the eBay app on your phone, try using that. Or try a mobile browser.

If you can access your account via the app, you may be able to link a social media account to your eBay account, then use the social media account to sign in on your desktop, bypassing the usual sign-in and Captcha.
