Ebay Checkout With Paypal Hanging Up

This is still an issue and it is NOT one caused by Paypal!  I thought it was the Opera browser that I'm using that is causing the problem because when I use an old version of Firefox, it works every time!  But seeing that this is happening with other eBayers using all sorts of browsers, then the issue must be with eBay's payment processing!  I have no problem whatsoever paying with Paypal on any other site, only eBay!  So how does eBay not know of this problem when many eBayers have expressed and pointed out the same issue?!

I am wondering if you clear your browser's cookies/cache - sign in again and try it.

 

I purchase here every multiple times a week, I am using Firefox and I have not come across this problem very often...a few times and I re-did may payment and it went through just fine.

This past summer when a lot of users were having issues with eBay checkout stalling when it got to the PayPal sign-in screen, some were able to check out by using PayPal's One-Touch feature to save a token on their device. Might be worth a try if other things have failed.

Update:  I'm predominately a Buyer and I usually only buy things off of eBay on average 1 - 3 times a month.  From Oct. 23-27 , I ended up making 3 different transactions and to my surprise I didn't have any hang-up issues with Paypal anymore.  I didn't do a thing to fix it either; no clearing of cache or cookies, no payment adjustments on Paypal, and using the same Opera browser as before.  I guess it's just the power of doing nothing at all.  Smiley Wink  I do want to thank the users who responded and tried to help though, it's appreciated.

Ebay Checkout With Paypal Hanging Up

I noticed on a few purchases that on the left side of the check out screen that there was a message to log into PayPal and select my payment method. I have a PayPal credit account and it wanted me to specify how I wanted to pay either my PayPal balance, bank account through card on file, or PayPal credit.  Then it redirected me back to the cart and the button to pay had turned from grey to blue. Normally you would just click the blue pay button then get sent into PayPal and select how you want to pay with them. The fist time I noticed this was buying my eBay shipping supplies. I think when the seller is in the managed payments the process is slightly different and may be causing confusion to buyers used to the regular process. It is almost like eBay wants to make it more complicated than it needs to be so you will just go ahead and give them your credit or debit card directly to them. Then if you slowly make changes that older browsers and operating systems cant handle you then start pushing users over to your managed payments. This is called throttling and was 1 of the many things the net neutrality law protected consumers from.
