Hi,
I am in a dispute over a vehicle which I bought but has not been delivered as arranged. I have a text file containing a record of the SMS conversation I had with the rogue seller, which I want to attach to a message which I will send to him on the message centre because I want ebay staff to be able to access it when they are investigating the case.
However the message centre only allows pictures to be attached, not text files, and there is a character limit on the message length so I can't just copy and paste the text.
Any suggestions please?
thanks

@oolm If you have typed a letter in a word document you can print it out then do one of the following:
1. Use a scanner and scan the page saving it as a .jpg or .png formatted image
2. Use a camera and take a picture of the letter and save it to your computer
You can attached the picture of the letter to an eBay Message and send it to the Seller.

You can open the text file, size the window so that the entire message is visible, and then take a screenshot of it. Then save the screenshot, the default is usually either .png or .jpg, which are image files that can be attached.
You might want to show the messages in their original format, rather than in a copy-and-paste text version (which could have been edited).

thanks but this is a conversation of over 30 messages, too many to fit in an image like that, I really want them in text format. Why such a low character limit?

If the messages are on ebay, simply refer/direct to them. If they aren't on ebay......I doubt anyone will pay any attention to them, because others can be faked.

eBay staff will not be involved in a dispute about a vehicle sold on eBay Motors.
You will need to start a VPP request. Not receiving the vehicle after you have paid the deposit is a covered item. Scroll down to "How to request reimbursement". If you can't resolve it by communicating with the seller, then move on to "submit a reimbursement request" using the link in the second paragraph.
https://pages.ebay.ca/ebaymotors/help/education/buying/purchase-protection.html...
How to request reimbursementWe find that the basis for many reimbursement requests is often a simple misunderstanding between buyer and seller. As a result, we encourage you to first try to resolve any issues by communicating with the seller.
If you can't resolve the issue with the seller, submit a reimbursement request no later than 45 days** after the listing end date. You would generally receive a reimbursement determination and payment, if approved, within 45 days of the reimbursement request being submitted.
Upon eBay's review of your reimbursement request, you will be provided with instructions to submit your request directly to the VPP Administrator. The VPP Administrator will contact you within a few business days to obtain additional details about your request, and to discuss the appropriate next steps. You will be required to substantiate your request by providing, for example, damage estimates from no fewer than two approved service facilities (at your expense), or allowing the VPP Administrator to inspect the vehicle at any time.

This is also why eBay has the rule that buyers and seller should only communicate through eBay messages. While it may seam annoying it helps to protect both buyer and seller from promises and expectations being made or set outside of eBay.
