Can someone explain how I can disable alerts on the site?? I am talking about those small pop-ups on the right side, informing me that I was outbid or the item is ending, etc. I went to my account and removed all checkmarks under "Site Preferences/Buying Alerts", but these annoying pop-ups still remained! Can anyone help? Is there any other place where I can disable this feature?

Hi @reel.nut,
On your My eBay page hover over the Account tab, and click on Communication Preferences, in the drop down box. Scroll down to Buyer and click on Show next to Buying Activity. There you can set the notifications to None for the options you wish.

Yes, I did that as well, a long time ago - everything I could change (including outbid) is set to "None". Still, the problem persists! BTW, my understanding is that this page refers to email notifications only, not on-site pop-up notifications. This must be a glitch in Ebay code.

Well it is pretty strange. We have all options set to Real-time (note we do not do any buying), yet we receive no pop-ups of any kind.. We do receive enough email for a certain pol candidate to deny. I do wish I could turn those off.

I do mostly buying (I am bidding on 100's of items at any given time), and those popups get very annoying very fast.

Does anyone have any progress on this?
I really don't need to see that I am outbid on an auction that ended 30 minutes ago. The **bleep** things show up OVER and OVER with fly-in alerts. It was always annoying, but it seems much worse recently.
The only way to stop it seems to involve clicking the bell in the upper right corner, but as soon as I open another item the alerts show up again.
As someone noted elsewhere in the forums, I limit bidding early on items just to keep this **bleep** off the screen.
Any help is appreciated.
