Hello, I've been an ebay member since 2005 with 100% positive feedback. Monday August 26th 2019 I sold an item for $1,950. I sent the buyer an invoice and a day later he replies "Sorry but you can cancel the sale. I won’t be making a payment".
It has now been 3 days with no payment and I want to file an Unpaid Item Case (today is August 29th 2019). When I go to the Unpaid Item Case page to start the process for this Item I get a red message saying "Unpaid Item Assistant will open a case for this item on Sep 27, 2019 if payment hasn't been recorded".
Why so long before ebay starts the process? I thought I could start the process after two days of no payment. I don't want to get hit with fees. Am I missing something?
Thanks for any help.

Apparently your account has turned on the unpaid item assistant and has also set the period for combined shipping to 30 days.
To get around this, just turn off the Assistant so you can open the case manually.

Huge thanks for your reply!
For some reason ebay had turned on Unpaid Item Assistant and set it to 30 days. After reading your reply I went in and found the settings in my preferences and set my Unpaid Items to "manual" and set the days to 2.
I was successful it claiming the unpaid item case.
