I hope this message finds you well. I just wanted to share some feedback regarding your customer support system. In certain situations, I am concerned that the current system may unintentionally support scammers, which feels a bit unfair to honest buyers and sellers.

 

I believe that addressing this issue could help improve the trust and experience for all users on your platform.

Concern Regarding Customer Support System

I have encountered a situation that requires attention. I purchased a laptop through the eBay platform, but it turned out that the seller is a scammer. After the purchase, I contacted the seller with a request to return my funds, but my requests remained unanswered or unresponsive.

Initially, I submitted a request for a refund, as required by the platform's rules. However, eBay later asked for the item to be returned to the sender to complete the return process. The problem is that at the time of submitting the request and to this day I have not yet received the item. Because of this, I was forced to withdraw my original request and submit a new one, indicating that the item was not delivered on time. Unfortunately, I can't use this option, because the platform says that I closed the dispute and eBay can't help me in any way. 

I would also like to emphasize that this laptop was extremely important to me. Unfortunately, I lost my job, and I considered purchasing a laptop as a way to earn money remotely for at least some time. Now this situation has greatly complicated my situation, and I hope for the help of the entire community in solving this problem.

eBay is not here; this is a public user forum. Your links are not publicly viewable, which is probably a good thing if they contain personal information you would rather not make public.

 

What does the tracking, if any, show?

 

You apparently filed the wrong type of case: you filed a "return" case, when you should have filed an "item not received" case if there was no tracking showing delivery. Unfortunately, once you close a return case, you cannot open another case with eBay.

 

You may still have recourse through your payment method. Many credit cards offer up to six months of protection for items that are not received, if the seller cannot provide tracking that shows delivery.

 

If tracking shows delivery, on the other hand, contact the shipping service to determine if the tracking corresponds to a delivery to your shipping address shown in the order details. If you can obtain documentation, you may be able to pursue a "false tracking" claim with your payment method in that case.
