I am shopping for a good value memory stick. Originally I was thinking about getting a good value 2Tb memory stick for a little over $12 but then read in the forums that these USB sticks with all this extra high capacity are actually fakes. In most cases they are 8 or 16 GB drives interfered with and remade to show a greater capacity as the actual 2 TB ones do not exist at all, while there are a few 1TB kinds costing close to $1000 in real life so this ultra cheap price is a red flag here.
However, using these fake drives, when transferring files and going over their original 8Gb or 16Gb size, the data gets lost and corrupted. My question would be if it's really worth it ? Would it be safer to try and buy a lower capacity drive, eg 64GB or 32Gb thinking that at least this size exists in real life and these lower size drives may have not been interfered with. There may be a chance that this way one may be getting the real thing.
Any advice on this topic, Ebay experts ?
