I tried to place an order on desktop site and got a "check your payment details" error. I checked them (google pay) and resubmitted with the same error. About 5 minutes later, both payments hit the account but as of now no order is showing in my history as being placed.
Anyone have a suggestion for resolving? I can't even see if there's an order in process.

You need to contact eBay. Only they can help you with this.
