Captcha on every login

I see on every login the captcha - twice.

That's a giving me a not so high satisfaction using this platform.

The page is telling me, that after a while this should disappear, but it happens now since several weeks (4?)

Why is this captcha page not disappearing after week, as the page suggests?

Thanks in advance.

Captcha on every login

I have been getting the CAPTCHA for months now in FF.  I have Malware Bytes installed, and have it set to allow eBay, even have FF set to keep cookies from eBay.. still every day, CAPTCHA.  Once again (to me), eBay is proving they make changes for the sake of making changes, not for any real reason.

Ebay implemented the captchas for 2 reasons;

1- Harvesting and selling of personal browsing data through persistent cookies, trackers and the like,

(which serves the purpose of you just turning on all cookies and letting ebay in...)

2- Creating the illusion of a secure platform by implementing captchas, when nothing could be further from the truth...

The rest is nonsense.

Ebay isn't even a shadow of what it used to be, and like all giants who don't know how to stay on top, the fall from grace is always a desperate money grab...

Try listening to phrase. That will get you in without continuous loop. I NOW have a captcha each and overtime I log in!!!! And its a new Captcha company???? I too log out and clear Cache history etc when I am done for the session. I do not use bookmarks and type in the URL by hand.....

To test if the VPN is causing the problem. Not every site works with every VPN.

I had the captcha thing for about 2 months, it went away for a month, then for another month I had the "click all pics with a bicycle" type log-in. Then 5-6 months ago it stopped altogether. No rhyme or reason, so its in perfect style for eBay.

It might make sense for eBay to institute that temporarily as a result of detecting some suspicious activity, such as a string of unsuccessful sign-in attempts to your account.

Captcha is here to block you from using a snipe tool. It is not here because of any security issue.

Sniping, including sniping done by third-party services, is explicitly allowed by eBay:

https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/bidding/bid-sniping?id=4224

eBay does not make money by preventing legitimate bids from being placed.

If your third-party sniping service cannot handle Captcha requirements, find another sniping service that can, or else snipe manually.

The Captcha blocks both of my snipe tools. I have to manually snipe at the last seconds.

Have you tried Gixen? I have not used the service -- I place bids manually myself -- but when others have asked for sniping service recommendations, that service is often mentioned.

For any snipe tool to work now you would have to login fill out the captcha and leave the computer on. Of course EBAY could counter by making you fill out another captcha   before bidding. So far they haven't done that yet.

Only true for certain types of tools that run on your computer. There are third party services that work differently, that do not require you to leave your computer on or be signed in.
