Cannot ask ebay to step in, been passed 3 business days

I started a return request on 5/2 and have been unable to work out something with the seller. The automatic email states I can ask ebay to step in, but all I get is the option to close the request.

I noticed on your first screenshot that the date is blocked out at the bottom of eBay's message to you where it says:

"you can ask us to step in and help starting on..." (date) but the date has been erased so that we cannot see it...why is that?

@hurryagain

because the email did not give me a date.

are you suggesting that i blocked it out on purpose?

ebay has temporarily extended the wait time from 3 business days to 5 business days because of covid-19

I do not know what to think...I have never seen a this message sent without a date

I had to file an INR case a few weeks ago and my eBay message to me had a date and I was able to escalate the case.  Seller is a US seller who attempted to accept purchases on items that they did not have on hand.  I think they were banking on a shipment from China to arrive within a few days but it was seriously delayed by the epidemic.  I gave that seller 10 days AFTER the ETA date and still nothing.

It does look like there is something at the end after the "n".  It looks like a period mark but I can't tell...if this was the way they sent me a message, I would try to contact eBay CS and have them look at their message that they sent.

Since their phone lines are temporarily closed due to the epidemic, you can contact them go to either of these sites to get help from eBay staff:

Ask eBay:

https://www.facebook.com/eBay

I would find out what is going on.  As @ypdc_dennis  said, I do know that they are giving sellers a bit more time for items to get to their destinations but I would expect a date on the message...perhaps an extended date but STILL a date.  I had a date. I would hate to have the case close without me being able to escalate it if I needed to.

Good luck.
