Can't stay logged in because...?

I just reset my password but am not able to stay logged in. Is ebay having technical problems?

Usually repeated sign-in requests are a sign of your browser not accepting cookies, or having a corrupt or blocked eBay cookie.

Right now eBay is in the midst of changing their sign-in page, which may have something to do with it.

Deleting your eBay cookies and making sure that your browser is set to accept cookies is a good first step in figuring out what the problem is.

I've been having the same problem staying signed in since the new sign in page showed up yesterday. I don't believe it's cookies or my computer. Software developers having a problem?

When I have sign-in issues, one or other of the following usually helps:

Explicity sign out and sign back in on main page (not using a bookmark)

Restart the browser

Delete eBay cookies

Delete all cookies

Delete cache or temporary internet files

Delete last week of history

Restart computer

Use another browser temporarily

Try another computer/laptop temporarily

Totally reset or update/downgrade original browser (as a last resort)

thats ridiculous. I have been a member/seller for 20 yrs and never have had a problem until yesterday. now it keeps loggin me out. if none of my other 20 websites do this, then its not my browser or cookies or cache or history or anyother issue on my end.

ebay needs to fix this because its a pain in the ass to keep logging in.

Yes I have had to fight logging into my account for a couple days now.  Resetting and resending everything. Trying to change password, typing in the code numbers over and over. Finally password goes right in like normal.

One more thing to check -- under Account Settings, Site Preferences, all the way down at the bottom under Other Site Preferences, make sure the is a check in the box that says "Keep me signed in on this computer". If not, check it and hit "Apply".

Obviously, only check that box if you are using your own personal computer.

You can not stay logged in because Ebat made a change and thought it unecasary to test before sending it live.  It would have been simple to log in and then close the page to see if it was holding the password. It would have been simple to see if the stay logged in feature was working but no. As with all of the changes they have been making it would cost to much for the outsourced idiot implementing the changes to test to see if they did their work correctly so now users can not stay logged. You would think keeping buyers online and able to make purchases would be a priority. Yet again ebay has slipped up but wants buyers and sellers to trust them with their bank info over PAYPAL what a joke. The company they are switching to cant even run ETSY's site properly. They are having the same issues as on Ebay and despite Ebay insisting it will save sellers money their current rate is twice that of Paypal. Sellers will not be able to get their money instantly like on Paypal so shipping labels will not be able to be purchased till the money is cleared by them. However the first hurdle is that most of the time buyers can not complete a purchase. You would think that close to a whole summer of constant problems someone at Ebay would realize this is a bad idea and stop doubling down on stupid choice.

But then again ebay cant do something simple like teach its spell checking program to recognize their own name lmao.

Your suggestion worked and now I'm no longer prompted to login over and over...however, the same functionality which is now set on the account should also work with the checkbox on the login page which is obviously not working. At least there is a workaround that 99% of the ebay users have no idea about.

Amen. This is ridiculous. I've tried everything. My password was so obscure that it was a pain in the patoot to keep having to type it in so I reset it again this morning.

Yes , I had a problem signing in today it acted like I had the wrong password over and over..Weird. Still having problems with  Views and watchers saying - and 0, And No sales in over 2 weeks.... Be Glad when all the Issues are fixed and Stay fixed!
