Can't contact buyer through order details

I'm trying to contact a buyer and when I hit the "contact buyer" button it sends me to ebay messages where I have no option to create a message.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

If you are using a mobile browser, try requesting the desktop site version of the page before using that contact link.

If you are unable to use that link in mobile browser, desktop browser or eBay app, then you may be able to contact the buyer directly from the buyer's profile or feedback page using the "Contact" link there to compose a new message.

eBay is no longer allowing sellers to contact buyers. Simple truth.

eBay is no longer allowing sellers to contact buyers.

Every user's profile page has a "contact member" link, and that seems to be working for me.

Not every user may respond to messages, and some larger sellers may block messages due to not wanting to handle large message volumes, but it is still possible to send a message to most buyers through eBay.

Some messages may be blocked due to content restrictions (mostly concerning contact information). Some new users may be limited by the number of messages that can be sent in a day.

If you are not able to send a message to another eBay user, make sure the user is still registered, try using another method, or wait a day and try again.
