Can't combine orders or input tracking numbers.

A buyer bought four items and I went to the print shipping label screen. The "Combine items by buyer" button was greyed out and wouldn't let me combine the orders so I bought one shipping label and attempted to add tracking numbers to the other three items. No error message and it looks like it was successful, but the items remain in my "items to ship" view and the tracking number will not associate with them. I have tried numerous times today to add the tracking numbers with no success.

Possible: Buyer probably is a guest and has 4 different (look similar at a glance) USER names; therefore you can't add the same tracking number to the orders as in the eyes of 'shipping', those are 4 different people?

Agree with @stainlessenginecovers  - also, there could be a slight difference in the buyer info in each order, such as different ID, different mailing address, different spelling or abbreviation of something - could be very minor - but unless they matched absolutely completely, the ability to combine would be gone.  I've made the mistake a couple of times thinking I could combine shipping for someone but upon scrutinizing the orders' information I found tiny differences.

Thanks! You guys are right. Same name and address but one different number in their eBay buyer name. I've sold multiple items to them , many times and never had this problem. More to the point, in all my years on eBay I've never seen this before!

I've had it happen multiple times; had to rip the package apart and repack in a separate package; then pay for the new shipping (and void, wait for refund for up to 3 wks) for shipping.
