Can't add bank account to new account - FIX

I've seen this topic a few times and, after opening a new account to sell alternative items, I came across the inability to add my bank account.  The option was readily available to add a credit or debit card to buy, but not a bank account to get paid.

Here is the fix, that should be prompted by eBay when opening a new account.  (Go figure that it isn't...)

Go to Site Map (https://pages.ebay.com/sitemap.html).  Scroll down to My Selling Account, then click on Choose automatic payment method.  You will be prompted to establish a seller account, after which time it will offer you the option of adding a bank account.  Click to add, then add your information.  It's just that simple!

Hey Oddz,

This does allow me to add a bank account. But does it work? It doesn't say that it will send xx amount of money to the bank account for verification, but it just adds it.  I found that a bit odd.

I am a new seller to ebay and have pending sales right now but it has been 3 weeks talking to "specialists" over the phone trying to get this issue fixed. I have tried now 4 different banks all the same error and this method op has said does not work for me...

Half tempted to just keep my business elsewhere as I have been doing. Support call #1 told me it was a bug with the website and will be fixed 4/29. Called 4/29 and was told "Thank you for 2 years of service, blah blah blah. Your account has a block on it but we don't know why. It's lifted try again". I tried to add all 4 banks again and it did not work, same error. Called back to support for the 3rd time and was told it was a site issue and to not worry as well as the last tech I talked too didn't know what they were talking about with a block on the account...

I have over $500 pending in my account because I can't add a bank account. For a starting business this money is what is used to buy new product n what not... regret ever selling the couple items I have so far because of this unknown issue.

You need to attach a checking account for payouts and then attach a debit or credit card for seller fees that aren't taken from the buyer's payment.

This is done in two different steps.

What was the fix? The problem is the method to change the account isn't changing the account. It isn't that we don't know where, or how to do it.

I tried to add my bank account to my existing eBay account. I was redirected to the Trust page.
After selecting the bank, I was prompted to add the username to the bank account. When I gave it, the Trust system said I don't have internet banking 🙂 ... of course I have internet banking.
On the other hand, I do not agree to eBay's right to charge my bank account at any time.

I have the same darned issue.  It's like GROUND HOG DAY. I keep clicking on the links people cite, I can't find "My Selling Account" to click on!!! Arrrrrgggghhhhh.  And anything else I click on with Payment, brings me back to the Credit Card, and whether I want to add ANOTHER CREDIT CARD OR DEBIT CARD. NO MECHANISM ON HOW TO ADD CHECKING ACCOUNT!!!!  I sold many items years ago (3 or 4 yrs) on eBay I don't recall this insanity back then!!!

eBay doesn't care about their customers. It's just big tech screwing the little person. I've sold serval things on eBay and can't get my money out. I've tried two different bank accounts and they where not supported. I can't use the money I have from selling to buy more stuff. They won't send you a check. They are happy to take my money with the credit card I have on file, but they can't credit the money back to that. After 18 years, I'm done with eBay. So frustrated.

I have tried using my account by picking my bank and logging in and i go through all the motions and when my ebay page refreshes it says we cannot verify your account at this time, so i try to enter the details manually and i wait for weeks on the micro deposits and they never come, i tried 4 different banks and never get micro deposits, i tried debit cards and credit cards and no micro deposits and their customer service has not been helpful, I dont have much money on my account but i have suspended all of my listings until this is fixed bc a seller shouldnt have to go through this just to get paid

Possibly your bank is not supported by eBay, you are not using a checking account, or you are using the wrong ACH routing number for electronic deposits. Note that this is not necessarily the same number that appears on your checks.
