Can no longer hide "recommended" search suggestions

Well this has made searching for stuff 1000% harder...

Occasionally the search box would get filled with eBay "recommended suggestions" based on what I was typing. There would normally be a button at the bottom to hide this. I don't use those suggestions at all, in fact I have certain search entries stored in my browser fields I regularly look for. These suggestions override my own saved field entries. The link to hide suggestions is no longer there, however, I can't get rid of this pointless "feature". Please fix this.

I also noticed the disappearance of the "hide suggestions" link not long ago.

But today, I notice that I can see that link again -- at least in the browser I am using now (Firefox 83). It seems to work for me, and when I use it I can see the saved browser form data from past searches.

If you are able to use that "hide suggestions" link, I would suggest saving your past searches in a form that you have more control over, such as bookmarking those searches.

If not, you may be able to reach some of your past searches using your browser's address autocomplete function. Start with a current search, and delete everything in the address after the "?", and then your browser should provide suggestions if it is set properly. Try deleting smaller portions of the address to see other suggestions.

I'm Also having this Issue. 

Yes, the Link Came Back for a Short time, But it is Gone Again. 

This Really Fouls Up the Search Process, Takes Longer, More Typing, 

As My  Previous searches Won't Display.
