I have an external monitor.
At least once a day it goes black when I maneuver through eBay screens and ONLY eBay screens.
Sometimes, it comes back up.
Many times, I am left with a black screen that can't read my HDMI connection from my laptop.
Both are Dell. Using Chrome/Windows 10.
Dell has done everything they can to identify the issue and are stumped. It requires unplugging my monitor and rebooting my laptop to fix it. IT ONLY HAPPENS ON EBAY!
I AM SO F'ING TIRED OF THIS.
Has anyone else experienced this and, if so, found a fix?
I watch the events log and usually, it has a version of this.
System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (0x80004005): No such host is known
at System.Net.Dns.GetAddrInfo(String name)
at System.Net.Dns.InternalGetHostByName(String hostName, Boolean includeIPv6)
at System.Net.Dns.GetHostEntry(String hostNameOrAddress)
at ScreenConnect.NetworkExtensions.GetIPAddresses(String hostOrIPAddressString)
at ScreenConnect.ClientNetworkExtensions.ConnectTcpSocket(Uri endPointUri)
at ScreenConnect.WindowsClientToolkit.ConnectNetworkConnection(Uri endPointUri, Uri httpProxyUri)
at ScreenConnect.SocketEndPointManager.Run()
Thoughts?

Also, sometimes, it is DNS errors. Sometimes, it doesn't show errors in the log.

Are you running a remote administration tool called ScreenConnect? Check add/remove programs. Have you tried to update the display (graphics card) driver? Have you tried a different hdmi cable?
I doubt this would fix it but you could try another DNS server (quad9, CloudFlare, etc.). Run ipconfig /all from a command prompt and look for DNS server or servers and it should display the dns servers that are being used. Have you tried a different browser? Maybe it’s something with the rendering engine used by it?

Hi,
I do have ConnectWise control set for my remote tech support. But, I did stop the service to see if that was interfering. I have updated all drivers. I've tried a different HDMI cable. I'll try the ipconfig. It did happen once with Microsoft Edge. The problem is, I'm really pretty dependent on Chrome due to some of my other work. I do use other browsers at times. But, for other things that require Chrome, I don't like to have to switch browser.
