Hello,
I’d like to report a potential bug I experienced on a recent eBay auction. The interface indicated that I was outbid on an item, yet after the auction ended, I was shown as the winning bidder. This caused confusion and concern about the accuracy of the bidding process.
I have attached a screenshot showing the outbid message alongside the winning status for your reference.
Please investigate this issue and let me know if further information is required. I’d appreciate clarification on how this could occur and whether any action is needed on my part.
Thank you,
USERIDLDA

Could you post the item number so we could check the bid history?

Could the one bid retraction be the one bid that initially beat you? Who cares... you won! 😃

please provide the item number to check
by the screenshot and your message it may that the seller canceled the bid of the buyer who outbided you and gave it to another bider

That item number takes you to an active Buy It Now listing not an auction.

Here is the bid history link:

It appears there was a bid retraction, but it was much earlier in the auction and did not figure in the price.

Perhaps it was this bidder who placed the final bid and then was removed from eBay

Thanks for all the answers.

I don't think that bidder enters into this, as they were nuked by eBay hours earlier, and their high bid was surpassed by three other bidders (including the OP) in the hours leading up to the end of the auction.
I don't see any weirdness in the bid history at all, really. That scam bidder (who had been spraying bids across all the scam-popular high-value categories in 62 different auctions) had been removed, and the one bid retraction on record had occurred three days prior. All I can surmise is that there was truly some kind of closing glitch in the auction, given that @useridlda has a screenshot saying that they were outbid but also the high bidder, both at the same time.

I'm curious @useridlda . Can you tell us in that screenshot from your post, what is the blacked out dollar amount in the red banner that says what the item sold for?
Does it match your winning bid of $638 or is it a different amount?

Posting the real amounts. I also think it was a glitch, I have never seen.

Thanks for sharing. Since the bid amount matches your actual winning bid, and as @a_c_green pointed out there were no other red flags, I'm also inclined to believe the red "outbid" banner was a glitch of some sort.
