Best offer not showing up in awaiting payment

I have accepted 2 best offers.   Neither of which is showing up as awaiting payment or the sold page.

I believe that they will not show up as sold until the buyer actually pays. Until then, they are not ended and anyone can still purchase them.

Was this something that has changed within the last year? I always have thought any offers accepted would pull the listing as sold.

The last "accepted offer" I had did not switch status until it was PAID for....

(I do not use Immediate Payment)

I have seen other members post similar results, so, that must be what is happening...

personally, I think it's a good idea leaving it available until it is paid for......

Yes, this appears to be a relatively recent change.

eBay has changed many aspects of how offers work, including allowing sellers to require the buyer to provide a payment method in advance in order to make an offer, then charging the buyer's payment method automatically upon acceptance.

When buyers and sellers complained that this prevented combining offers with other purchases, eBay seems to have begun testing a new system that does not charge the buyer immediately upon acceptance, but allows a certain amount of time for the buyer to combine multiple items in a cart or to change the payment method; if the buyer does not make a payment within a certain amount of time (I believe there is a countdown for the buyer), then the original payment is automatically charged.

This is my understanding from reading various threads about offers; it is entirely possible that eBay is still testing various options and that different users are seeing different things based on sellers' Buyer Requirement settings and whether buyers have been included in various test groups.

It does make a certain amount of sense, but eBay has not really explained the process very well, and for sellers that are not used to it, that can be very disconcerting.

I have had this happen to me several times in the past few months. I have found that it only happens to me when I have sent offers to multiple potential buyers for an item and someone then sends a counter-offer that I accept. Then the status goes into limbo with the item still active until the person who accepted the offer pays or someone else buys and pays.
