Bad search results, "0 items found" but it did find items

I'm getting really weird search results today. I searched for [AA117 diode] and Ebay responded with "0 results found" but then displayed about 5 results where the item's titles have both "AA117" and "diode". Screen shot below.

Wait, is that because my default search are must be "US" and the results are from the UK?

Yes, those three available are in the UK, hence considered "international".

It has become more visible in the last year or so but has really been there for a long time

same here. I live in Hong Kong and this oddity began about two days ago... I never realized it existed, as I have been active on ebay for about a year now, and this just happened.
