Any Insight here with the recent changes to promoted listings and the conflict with Ad Blocker?

From my understanding promoted listings no longer will appear twice in a search result. Within the "Sponsored" section and again within the organic search results.  In the past, promoted listings got the advantage of 2 results.

The problem seems is that the browsers Ad Blockers block the promoted listing, thus not having the listing show at all.  This issues seems to be make the YouTube channels of late.

When I test it with FireFox, but before I log into my EB account, I do see Sponsored listing when I do a search.  However, when I log into my EB account and do the same search, I don't see any sponsored listings.  I have Firefox tighten down pretty good from a privacy standpoint.

Just wondering anyone's thoughts or comments.

I think those Gurus have walked back some of their rhetoric.  Ebay told the two I've seen that the ad blockers will only block 2% of those PL listings......and they are working to reduce that.

Remember even tho you have PL on all  listings, not every listing that shows in search is PL......so ad blockers would not block those.  Beyond that, Ebay is NOT showing only PL in any search.....

I have been having sales through the promoted listings so adds are being seen. You can go to the promoted listing dashboard and look at you items impressions.  This is the number of times a add was placed in search results or on the bottom of pages ect. By default it shows the daily activity for the last 30 days. The clicks section represents the actual views of your items when a potential buyer click on a add and looed at you item. Just because a add was placed in a search results does not mean a potential buyer will click on it and if they do click on it there is no guarantee it will transfer to a sale. You can look over the data to see if there is a major drop in traffic. On the top right there is a drop down to adjust the date range . You could try going back several months to see if there are periods in the month where interest in your items drops off

Also you may want to adjust your ad rate. The higher the rate the more likely your item will be promoted.

Last Friday there were 2 fixes. You could either go to PayPal and purchase the label though PayPal. If you did this you had to fill out the correct shipping service and weight. The other fix which was being given by their support reps was to go to the url and delete new_label from the url and past back_to_classic in its place this pulles up the old label page which was working fine. If you try to go to the old label page and get a error message saying the page could not be found there is a error in the url.

Perhaps this is true.  But I've not seen any evidence of this meaning more sales.  I ran 1000 listings each promoted at 12% for 3 months.  Average sales attributed to promoted listings according to ebay reporting was 30 per month.  Ran the same 1000 listings promoted at 3% for 3 months.  Average sales were the same 30 per month.  The impressions reported by ebay at 12% were about double that when I ran at a 3% ad rate.  But it didn't mean more sales.  Just more fees.  I wouldn't recommend anything higher than 1%.

In mid-August promoted listings reports had a 'glitch' and showed zero impressions for one day.  There was a thread about that as I recall.  We called customer service.  The rep acknowledged an issue and then 'reset' our store (whatever that means).  The next day numbers did flow back into the impressions report.  But they were lighter than average.  For us 20% lighter.  And that continues to this day.  I believe this is about the time that ebay dropped our regular listings and started to just show our promoted listing?  Needless to say, sales dropped.  And if ad blockers are a problem...………..yikes.

Dropped your listings? From were are you saying from search results in categories your items are listed. Pull up a listing and click on its category and search your listings tittle. You can also just scroll through the general results based off of most recent. However with GTC if you have not listed a item with in the last 30 days even if your items have relisted they will be harder and harder to be found in a broad search as the older a GTC listing is the further down the search result list they go. Currently eBay give priority or the top portion of the search results to items actually listed in the last 30 days and promoted listings fallowed by older items. In the past they sorted by the date a item was listed and when a item got relisted the date a item was listed got refreshed. However now that date does not refresh and they only use the date the item was originally listed.

Just noticed that our listings are coming up differently today.  No longer do we see a 'sponsored' listing.  Even though each of our listings is promoted.  We just see the regular listing.  This is different than what we saw a couple of days ago when we were only seeing the 'sponsored' listing.  So some fiddling is being done by ebay.

I am referring to the regular listing and the 'sponsored' listing.  Used to be that you would find both in a search.  The other day we could only find the 'sponsored' impression of each of our listings in a search.  Today we just see the actual listing and not the 'sponsored' impression.  So it appears changes are being made.
