Answering messages from Ebay members

I am getting an error if I try to answer questions from Ebay buyer. It is really ugly because my answers are long and technical. The error causes the whole answer to the message to disappear.  Then I have to start all over again. Extremely time consuming. So is Ebay message system down?

What does the error say?

Try copying the message and pasting it into a notepad file before sending in case it is lost again.

Messages that contain lots of numbers or special characters are subject to being filtered to prevent users from exchanging contact information. Try sending shorter messages, if possible. See if you can split the message into two or three parts -- that might allow you to identify a problematic section if there is one.

It wouldn't accept the programming code. So like newspapers, I have to dumb down my answers so a 6th grader can understand it.  I might as well not answer any questions. Thanks for the help.
