COMBINED SHIPPING.
EBAY VS EBAY MOTORS
The ebay side of this platform, when it comes to combining multiple item(s) for a customer is pretty much straight forward and trouble free (still a few hiccups now and then) and even the international shipping area has gotten it figured out....HOWEVER ebay motors has turned their side into a major nightmare and one that costs ebay a substantial amount of money in fees being lost, as well as costing loss of sales for sellers.
Where it used to be simple like the EBAY SIDE where the buyer can request a new total for items(unless they pay for them in advance) the seller gets a message from ebay that a buyer needs a new total for the item(s) he has in his cart and to "Prepare an invoice" where the seller can see all the items the buyer has chosen, and can be correctly and safely be sorted out and totaled (not everything can always go in one package safely( glass vs heavy items...you get the drift) and send back the invoice(s) to the buyer for payment...works as it should.....but then you come to ebay motors side and combining is near impossible as buyers are not provided the "request a new total" option, which forces the buyer to pay shipping on each item regardless...so with the carrier rates that never stop going up...if one was to want 7 items that are say each are under 4oz which retails at 7.50ea. ebay does the calculations for the seller and sends the buyer a total for shipping of $52.50 not including the price of the item...so say those 7 items are decals that together still are in the 1-4oz range and would normally ship combined for 7.50-9.50....now anyone with an ounce of common sense knows it does not cost 52.50 to ship decals! So while the seller has no clue this is going on and able to salvage the sale, the buyer is going to do one of 2 things...he is going to run away real fast and abandon the cart and items, which loses sales for the seller and fees for ebay....and the seller is none the wiser that this has happened as ebay does not tell you(I wonder why) OR the buyer will send a message wanting to know why shipping is so expensive....and to send him an invoice(ebay motors blocks this too) and then you have to try to explain this is ebays fault and not due to the seller and that he has to pay the ridiculous shipping and to trust the seller to refund the ebay induced over charge.
(think big..here) Think how much money seller(s) and ebay loses in sales and ebay fees in just one day! Among all the ebay motors sellers...
I do not want to here about "free shipping" as their is no such thing, no carrier I know of offers free shipping, and with carrier costs changing almost weekly the seller will live in revision land forever, or just lose more money each time rates go up.
And I do not want to here that it cannot be combined because of this discount or that discount etc etc...let's get this straight ebay motors....it is entirely up to me to determine if I want to discount any or all items and give MY buyers the best deal possible! It is NOT up to you to decide what can or cannot be discounted or able to be combined because it is discounted! The ebay side and International side has it figured out...so what is your problem!
The only system that does work right is like the ebay side where the seller, who knows how to ship his items and how to package them can do so and keeps the buyers happy and coming back....while ebay motors does the opposite and drives sales away and buyers to other platforms and will blame the seller for trying to rip him off on shipping.....so an explanation is needed to justify this lack of common sense at why the ebay side is not mirrored on the ebay motors side....there is no difference an item is an item period. A box of nuts for a clothes washer is no different than a box of lugs nuts for a 69 Charger...a nut is still a nut...
