Advertising Preferences - eBay AdChoice

In the past (Years Ago) I believe I successfully turned off the feature. I can't now as it provides a bin file to download instead. Been like this now for a long time now. Many will read this. Some might try to turn theirs off. Unless someones else helps me by replying this it will be left untouched and eBay will just reset everyone's to YES again and ........

The business practices on most sites leaves something to be desired these days. Privacy issues where there is monetary gain should always be a opt-in practice. Where is my cut of the pie? 5% sellers fees perhaps? 1$ a day until this is addressed?

@buyer-2017

I am seeing the same broken behavior you describe at that link.

You can find some Ad Choice info here, including an alternative opt out link that seems to work better:

https://www.ebay.com/help/account/adchoice/adchoice?id=4648

At least it did not opt me back in after I opted out previously. I cannot be sure if those settings ultimately affected ad delivery, though, since I hide ads using an ad blocking plug-in in my desktop browser, and do my best to ignore ads when using a mobile browser.

Re: Advertising Preferences - eBay AdChoice

Thanks for the link. It shows as off in those settings.

I use the Site Preferences page and I see this:

Use my information to show me relevant ads on eBay and other sites. Oops, error occured. Try again later

When I go to the edit button and select it the next page brings up a check-boxed confirmation saying it is enabled. Clicking on the save button and deselecting the check mark box brings up the page to download.

Thanks for the reply.
Maybe they will change it to Opt-IN?!

Re: Advertising Preferences - eBay AdChoice

The only link that works there is the one to disable personal ads in a single browser, which would mean it gets saved in a cookie. The broken link of the first post is supposed  to disable them on an account level, regardless of browser or session.  I also get the bin download instead of a working solution to not see personal ads.
