I've just been locked out of my account for the rest of the day I guess. I'm relatively new, and received a message from a customer asking if I offered combined shipping discounts. Upon looking, I don't! So I have been working through the seller hub trying to update this option and make it available. I had to create a new account just to add items to a cart so I could see my shipping options. It never updated, despite saying it did. So I'm lost there. And in addition to that, now I can't access my seller account to respond to my customers. This is not a good feature at all and a flaw on eBay's part. I shouldn't have to create a whole account just to view items, that's outdated, and doing so just so I can see what my listings look like on a customers end. Crazy. Can I fix this somehow??

I never need to create a new account to look at my listings. I click on the listing and look at it. But I never place my own items in a cart. This is an eBay no no.
What eBay doesn't allow is sellers adding their own items to a cart to see how things look.
To create combined shipping you need to go to account settings>Shipping preferences then click on combined payments.
You're probably locked out because eBay detected an account from the same IP address placing items in a cart.

Yes, I did it from a secondary account I created. That does seem odd to me to disallow but at least I'll be back in tomorrow. I did go through those settings and did those changes but it still didn't change. I had my coworker at work try too and it was still going to charge separate shipping if he "bought both items."

I do combined shipping.
But 50% of buyers are not able to send a cart with items in it for shipping discount to me.
I just email buyer I will send a refund of the shipping discount to them.
It works for me for the International buyers.
Shipping is free for domestic.

You can avoid having to sign out and back in to switch accounts by using each account in a separate browser and staying signed in, then switching browsers to switch accounts.

When you do the above you need to include it in your shipping policy by clicking "apply my flat shipping rule". You are using shipping policies, right?

Not sure, honestly. I weigh my own packages and never have issues at the post office etc. But a customer emailed me asking about combined shipping and I didn't have a whole lot of knowledge until then to be completely honest. So I was trying to learn about and do all of that when I was locked out for the day.

I believe that the "lock out" message only pertains to the eBay app; if you use a browser you should be able to sign in to either account.

I was bouncing between app and browser and am locked out of both for the rest of the day sadly

If you mean that eBay browser links are opening in the app automatically, iOS users should be able to tap and hold an eBay browser link and select "don't open in the app" to prevent that from happening. Android users need to go to the device Settings: Apps: eBay: Open by default: Open supported links and select "don't open in the app". Then eBay browser links will no longer automatically open in the app.
