When i c.lick on "Buy It Now" or "Go To Checkout", i get a page saying Access Denied You don't have permission to access "http://pay.ebay.com/rxo?" on this server. Reference #18.710fd717.1558368855.343ddcb The reference number changes. I have been on the phone to ebay for hours. This started happening a couple weeks ago, but now it's quite often. Purchases went ok Sunday, but Monday morning they all failed to go thru. Please fix whatever you "improved" to cause this.

Someone needs to wise up that the growth of VPN services means more connections through fewer ip addresses. I have seen this problem going back 15+ years. Norton Antivirus is advertising their VPN on tv several times an hour, that's potentially millions of customers funneled thru 100k addresses, making every one of them look like DDOS attackers. Getting banned for a DDOS attack the very first time i have used the internet in days and the first time i have ever visited a site, is stupid. And so is just successfully buying something on Ebay and then getting banned for refreshing a different Ebay page to see how that auction is going. That's just seriously stupid, it's NOT indicative of me conducting a DDOS (or other type of) attack against Ebay or Akamai in the intervening 10 seconds.

well in this case it isn't an Ebay security policy it is the Akamai website security on their servers restricting your access. It may just be a piece of malware on your system which is easily determined by installing one of a dozen free connection and process monitors you can find with a quick google search. If you find an unknown process with 50 ip connections going ... well you have your answer and it isnt anything you were doing intentionally then. I think in most cases this will be true since have a few addresses being accessed is not unreasonable but having dozens doing questionable actions likely is a red flag.

A simple netstat /a showed ONE connection a96-7-70-191.deploy.static.akamaitechnologies.com:http TIME_WAIT and then it went away too. There was ONE to ebay01.lithum.com:https TIME_WAIT when i posted in this forum.

sounds like you solved your problem...

This can be verified by Akamai .... here is such a response from them, they indicated it would take a few days for my unrestricted access to resolve itself:

why the hostility? As I said ...they said it takes several days for the restrictions to list once the issue has stoped, what you said is consistent with that statement.

There has been no blame put upon you ...only information. What you do with that is up to you. I shared my experience to help you resolve yours.

What issue? What changed? Who changed it? I didn't do anything but turn off browser version spoofing MONTHS ago. Since then i have been online to buy from Ebay thru 100's of different isps and isp addresses. I've changed my ip here at home dozens of time with modem reboots. But as long as i do not turn back on browser spoofing i can use Ebay quite normally. If i turn it back on, then i get banned messages. It's that simple, so what's with you blowing hot air accusing me of haveing malware and blaming me for whatever Akamai is doing? Plainly, your "information" is wrong, and i am not playing this game any more.
