The eBay hypocrisy is incredible! They folded again like a lawn chair when we the sellers were in need. Most of us know by now about the Image system crashing yesterday. Simply put we couldn't publish any listings. Friday is the busiest day for our store in doing listings. OK sure I understand technical issues but what eBay refused to do is unbelievable.
Our people talked to the eBay staff and management in Utah (3) times yesterday. Get this:
(They refused to contact us in any way when the system was back online.) "You're just going to have to check periodically"
Why the coverup eBay wouldn't publish their problem in any form? They left us for dead!

There was notification on the System status board that both listing and shipping had "service interruptions" so not sure why you say it was a coverup.........

This is really RICH! What would happen if we treated buyers this way?

While that's true (and the first time I've ever seen eBay admit there's a problem on the System Status Page), eBay should have sent an Email to ALL Customers (All Members, including Buyers), so everyone was made aware of the problems.
Messaging was also not working for many, yet no mention of that on the System Status Page. Hmmm ... wonder if eBay had the ability to send messages to Members?
Waiting to see when they'll be a "Glitch" which impacts Seller Fees, where eBay collects less than they are due? I would bet never, as they probably have the "A Team" Software Developers code this segment of the system.

You would think that they would have some easy way to contact you once the issue was resolved. I'm sure they logged your calls. So why couldn't a simple form message be sent out to all who called? Instead they just clam up and pretend it never happened. Perhaps they don't want to acknowledge the problem in writing for legal reasons. Pretty sad if that is the case. You should be getting one of those 'rate our service' messages soon. Just fill it up with zeros. They earned it again.

This is yet another example of eBay treating sellers like sheep. The eBay site was effectively shut down for new listings along with all the other issues. It's shameful instead of getting in front of the problem they suppress it leaving the sellers in the dark? They're essentially acting like a media outlet reporting on their narrative instead of the facts. BTW: This is standard procedure for eBay.
Why not be honest with the sellers that work so hard to protect the image of the site by providing the best possible service to the customers?

Perhaps the user is trying to elude that even though they say service disruption under the listing section it is misleading as the issue is with imaging [which has its own section] and the use of service interruption implies it is working some of the time when it is not working at all. However eBay admitting that there is a issue is a move in the right direction as the last year they tend not to be transparent and the system status has not been updated when there are wide spread issues.
