25% Off Selling Fees Promotion Not Working Correctly

I received a promotion from Ebay for 25% off Final Value Fees if I list items in specific categories.

I spent some time yesterday listing items in those categories but the promotion is not identifying them as promotion eligible.  There were 0/1000 identified last night as I was listing.  This morning when I checked it says I have 1/999 promotion listings.  When I click to identify the 1 listing that they have included, it doesn't exist.  I don't have a listing with the item ID included.

Is anybody working on this technical issue?

25% Off Selling Fees Promotion Not Working Correctly

I also am confused about how the promotion works. I listed an item in one of the eligible categories but the counter on the 1000 listings included in the promotion did not decrement. Will the counter decrement if the listing sells? I assumed that I was receiving free listings in the promotion categories.

As a rule this type of promotion isn't 1000 additional free listings
It  will only decrease when an item that was listed within the promotion period sells.
1 sells you should see 999/1  and so on.
you should be able to see the discount in your my ebay, account, recent activity.

I am also confused about this. I sell books (one of the qualifying categories) & I ended a bunch of about-to-end listings, so I can Re-list them all under this promotion (doesn't say I can't do that), but it is still only saying 1/999 (I've relisted 30-40).... What gives ??

Also, it doesn't say those items have to SELL during the Promotion period, only that we have to LIST them during the Promotion period...... 😕

The promo is off FVF..........  so it's only going to show when the item sells and you will only be able to collect that discount on up to 1000 items......

You can LIST 50,000 (or an infinite #), but the listing amount has nothing to do with the promo........it's only those listing that SELL that qualify for the FVF discount that will be taken off the 1000............

You would think that the number would go down, since it says only items LISTED in that period count towards the promotion And it's "up to" 1000. It doesn't say that the item has to SELL within the promotion period, so I wonder if that promotion number will just stay in my Seller Manager section permanently?

*NOTE: I tried listing a Brand New item (rather than Relists), but it made no difference to the amount. Gotta love Ebay and their ambivilent promotions.....

That would be unlike an FVF promo I've ever seen. Can you post the full text of the promo details?

"What is the Promotion?
Invited sellers (“Sellers”) who activate the offer and then list up to 1,000 Qualifying Item(s)* in the fixed price, auction-style, or auction-style with Buy It Now format during the Promotion Period, pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth herein, will receive a 25% discount on final value fees (“Promotional Rate”) on any Qualifying Item that is listed during the Promotion Period (the “Promotion”).

The Promotion does not apply to insertion fees or optional advanced listing upgrade and supplemental service fees. Discounted final value fees will be applied to the total amount of the sale, including the cost of the item and shipping, excluding any sales tax. All existing selling limits on your account (as well as category and item limits) still apply, and may prevent you from creating the maximum number of listings in this Promotion. View the everyday rate plan for full details. "

This Promotion will begin on Monday, April 2, 2018, at 00:00:01 PT (12:00AM plus one second), and will end on Monday, April 16, 2018, at 23:59:59 PT (11:59 PM plus 59 seconds), for listings on www.ebay.com (the “Promotion Period”).

Please note that the discount may not be shown during the listing process. Instead, the discount will be reflected in the "Seller Account” section in My eBay, under the Account tab, as well as in your next invoice.

25% Off Selling Fees Promotion Not Working Correctly

The promotion says Used/Left:  1/999

If I click on the "1" to see which listing they are counting, the Item ID is for an item that sold the night I listed a bunch of items.  It took a while to figure that out.  (use advanced search and plug the item number in search bar and check Sold Items box.... the item you sold that will get the discount should come up)

So, I guess the description on the promo is incorrect.  It isn't that you can list 1000 items.  It's that you can sell 1000 items and get 25% off.  The promo clock is keeping track of items sold.

I've never received this promotion before .... Ebay needs to correct the description of the promotion.

It sounds like (from responses to this thread) the following corrections are necessary by Ebay:

1) It's 1000 listed and then sold during the promotion period, not 1000 listed.... they aren't going to give the discount on items you already have listed that sell during the promotion period and it sounds like you can list as many items as you want and the discount will apply to the first 1000 sold during the period.  The promo clock is keeping track of number of eligible items sold.

2) The items must be sold during the promotion period... you aren't going to get a 25% discount on items that sell after the promotion period ends....

If #2 is correct, many sellers will be really ticked about this.  Nowhere in the promo is that spelled out.   So you spend the time & potentially cost to list thousands of items and then if they don't sell in less than 2 weeks you don't get the benefit of the promo....

Here are my edits based on responses to this thread.

_______

Very frustrating dealing with Ebay sometimes.... by the time you figure out what the real promotion is, you have lost all interest in it.

Thank you! Yeah, Ebay's wording is Ambivalent, but yours is clear. Too bad Ebay can't hire people with a basic understanding of the English language........ So now all these listings I busted my *ss for, but only if they SELL during the period, also? That sucks.....

What's even worse is that they use this type of promo regularly (but selectively), and the terms always include the requirement that the item must sell within the period.

So whoever did this one couldn't even manage a cut-and-paste.
