Thank you for taking a look at this brightly colored pot. At first I thought it was Mexican tourist ware, but it has the feel and quality of European. I've never seen the black mark symbols in the base. Any help appreciated.

yea, definitely not gouda. I would think mexican, central or south american.

Thank you, yes, that was my original impression, but the pink wash around the bottom isn't right for Mexican pottery. Perhaps more similar to some of the earthenware Gouda-like wares from Japan. Could they be Japanese symbols on the bottom?

I don't see Latin America. I'd look to Eastern Europe. Hungary, Czech Republic...

Thank you all for your input. Haven't been able to find anything similar from Mexico or South America. Similar wares from Eastern Europe, but no perfect matches, so I'll keep hunting!

Thank you. That's what I was leaning towards. Do you know what the marks mean?
