Re: 50's California Pottery Garden Watering Spout Pitcher

To answer this question would require me to go through Jack Chipman's California Pottery book(s) page by page until I found a picture that matched, and I am not inclined to do that as it would take too much of my time. The OP could buy a used book online for a few bucks and do that for themselves, and that is what I suggest is the best way to find an id solution for this post.

Claudia, Jack Chipman wrote at least 2 books on the subject of California Pottery, and he is the authority in my opinion. Both are easily found on line, just google and they will pop up. Lots of used available. Happy hunting!

Not saying it isn't California pottery, but why do you think so?  It isn't in the two Chipman books, and I looked through a Bauer for good measure.  Not finding it doesn't mean anything, however.  It's miracle that spout has survived.

Janet, the OP said it was California, and it certainly had the right look, but if you can't find it in either of the Chipman books, then it could be anything. Janet is a much better source than I am, so I will let her provide her thoughts on the subject.

it was  just a gut feeling in my part that it had characteristics of  vintage California  pottery.  That may be because I am from California!

It could very well be California pottery.  You might send a message to Jack Chipman through FB.
