Where I have bought postcard

I ironically have somewhat of a double standard with postcards. I still buy the bulk of my postcards from flea markets, estate / garage sales and personal contacts. That is because I am old school when buying, i.e. I want to see and touch what is offered before buying.  At the same time I am an avid online seller. I sell on eBay, Delcampe, bidStart and Bonanza as well as at my flea market kiosk.

My largest sales activity involving postcards is on eBay. As a seller I prefer eBay over Delcampe and bidStart. Ebay buyers, in my experience, buy a lot more postcards, pay faster and leave feedback. Both bidStart and Delcampe are very lax and allow buyers a lot of time to buy and pay. Many of the buyers at those sites I dealt with don't bother leaving feedbacks whereas the majority of my customers on eBay enthusiastically leave feedback.

Other reasons I put much less effort into bidStart and Delcampe involve their focus and ongoing technology issues. Bidstart was bought by the large British stamp dealer Stanley Gibbons and the major focus there since has been on stamps with postcards having even less priority than they did in the past. Both bidStart and Delcampe have also undergone a lot of technology issues and their forums are full of complaints in this regard. There are times I gave up in frustration trying to do listings on bidStart because of issues they were undergoing.

For me, eBay is still the best online option for postcards.

Where I have bought postcard

I just got back from a trip where I purchased some cards at a book store, at an antique shop and got a big stack at a postcard show in Sunday. More than that the prices were good, I found stuff I never see online or at shows. Lately online has mostly been the same 100 cards relisted again and again. Ebay is the place to go for me; the listings on ebid and amazon and etsy just seem to be the rejects from ebay. Excuse me, overpriced rejects from ebay. I've bought some great cards on delcampe, particularly from European sellers. Sometimes payments are a little inconvenient and a buyer must check the payment types sellers accepts before bidding (or you'll be scrambling to get some euros to mail, which I have done). Playle is more casual but often offers some bargains.

Where I have bought postcard

I have never had a problem selling postcards on eBay. Scan well, be honest about condition and ship swiftly.
