Is there a way to get OLD ebay listings??

I collect lots of PCs but never kept track of the purchase price. Sometimes I will do an advance search on myself or others to see what I've (or they've) bought recently. What I want to do is go all the way back to 1998 or 99 and see every item bought on my account. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks

I know of no way to go back that far! Diane

I think you can go back only 3 months. (I could be wrong);) Kathy

that's correct, as far as I know you can only access the past three months worth of transactions - and only 2 months worth if you do it through my Ebay. You can bring up individual items for (sometimes, and sometimes not) up to 6 months or so, but only if you know their lot number - the description or title won't help you. Diane

Here is some information I rec. from ebay. With all the digital storage available why wouldn't they maintain a complete database? Hello, Thank you for writing to eBay. My name is Bella, and I appreciate the opportunity to assist you. I understand you are trying to locate the items which you have bought since 1999. Please note that ended auction information is removed from our database after 90 days. After it has been removed, the item number and information cannot be accessed or referred to again because the information no longer exists.

I wonder how far back PayPal and other payment services go. That might give you SOME info, if they keep records longer than eBay. Jim in KC

Can you only imagine how big a database would be if it had to store BILLIONS of transactions permanently - which it would if eBay kept them forever, with millions upon millions upon millions occuring every year. On this one I actually do agree with eBay (shaking my head at the thought of agreeing with them!) Good idea about PayPal Jim - but obviously it only works if you always used PayPal to buy. Diane

I have Yahoo mail (2G of space) and I am able to save pretty much everything - the earliest eBay listing I have, when I started to keep track, is from 15 May 2004 - everything is pretty much there, the item number, purchase price, date closed, eBay member ID - I save the emails sent via eBay (Congratulations, so and so has agreed to purchase yadam yada yada) - I have only used 4% of my space and I have well over 2000 emails saved - Yahoo! also has an excellent spam filter and other neat features - you can also use Google Gmail if you can get an account - anyway, you can store a heck of a lot of stuff with 2 gig - even those real old eBay messages you never thought you would have a use for!
