DPO

I understand that there are collectors of DPO (discontinued post office) postmarks. How on earth do you know if it's discontinued? Is there a list somewhere? Thanks

James E.Lee is the US distributor for Richard Helbock's DPO guides. Lee's site: http://www.jameslee.com/books.htm Are you interested in a specific state/region? Many states have postal history associations that you could contact, too. If you have just one or two examples you're wondering about, I'd be glad to help you with specifics.

Lee's site really has some in-depth books - I never realized there were such things. The postalhistory.com link is quite helpful with DPO's and partial postmarks and some other things. Thanks for the help! Lana
