I have a VERY MAJOR bank here on the East coast as my bank... and yet Ebay cannot verify it?
**bleep** ebay???? I gave you my routing and account information!!!! you even acknowledged the friggin bank name!!!
is it because it wasn't on your list of preferred banks? well I could give a rats ass what is on your preferred list of banks, this is my bank!!! and it's also the bank for millions of others of people too...
now will you PLEASE stop trying to be a bank your selves and get back to letting us sell our stuff and leave the payment processing to those that actually know **bleep** they are doing???? PLEASE!!!!!!

(Short list of what you need to do is at bottom of this post).
Although your thread is posted as a rant, in the long run it won't help. I know what you need to do, I went through it. Hopefully you can see this post through all the hate monger posts that offer no help and just clog up threads.
1.) If your bank is not on the list, it is NOT a big bank- get over it and stop defending it.
2.) I am with a Credit Union- small Cali only and opened 'another' checking acct. for just this business, separating from my personal checking and savings accounts.
3.) I received many 'generic' emails that you need to 'update' your account, after I already did (6 times, and what I did was 'respond' to the emails and had communications back and forth over a 2 month period). When I responded, I simply said "you keep sending me generic 'update your bank' emails, but no detailed direction on what you need. I send voided check and a statement (note that my acct. was new, but took a month for them to tell me to 'send a statement' so I had one I could print on line)
This is what was wrong and this is what you can fix
First; be sure your name, including middle initial or middle name, if on your checking account, is the exact same name as the ebay account. 'Tom' and 'Thomas' are the not the same. James J Jones is not the same as James Jones etc. If needed, fix your name on ebay, because banks won't in time (and some simply won't without a middle initial)
1.) Credit Union customers are 'members' so my checking statement had my 'member number' at the top and then just a 2 digit 'identifier' on my statement for each account (1 checking, 1 savings). Therefore, nothing with the matching 12 digit checking account number was shown on the statement. My 7 digit member number is in the middle of the 12 digit checking- so I told them that, circled it and scanned it again.
2.) They wanted a 'voided' check. I had temp checks, because I just opened the account and planned to never write checks. Temp checks don't have the little 'lock' shown on the right side of a check. Temp checks were white and they couldn't see the 4 corners of the check when I scanned it. So, I ordered checks (these checks have the little lock, and they are 'blue' so the corners stood out.
So, you need
1.) Exact matching name checking vs. ebay
2.) a statement that actually shows the matching 12 digit acct. number.
3.) Blank 'voided' check in a color that allows corner to be seen, with the little 'lock' on the right side.
I'm in MP now, get cash in my bank 3 days after a purchase (buyer buys on Tues, cash in bank on Fri)- obviously not like PP, but not as bad as it sounded.

ebay has went bonkers with this MP @#$% ! I decided it is not for me to sign up ! Good luck to you

I finally needed to get a letter from my CU with their routing number and my account number and all the rest of my account info. EBay has lost their minds.

personally for me they are asking for way too much info just to be able to sell here. I trusted pay pal and never did have any issue with them. Ebay is a selling venue not a money processor and should have left well enough alone. At least as a system goes they worked well together ! Now ebay wants the whole jar of cookies !!

Ayden is the payment processor, not eBay.

I know they are but they still suck !! Seems to me ebay could have shopped around a bit instead of going for the cheapest offer they could get ! Maybe found a company in the USA that was faster on the draw to process the payments faster !

Then maybe I would be more on board with MP ! That is after the stupid glitches were totally ironed out !!

They (eBay) was paid by the company to do this, they got a lot of money a couple of years ago. Better than cheap it is:
It has taken ebay some time it seems to push it out..

I read what eBay said to update your bank details. Did you do that?
Then your next post was about getting a letter from your credit union--------maybe your "credit union" Is not the same thing as a very major bank on the east coast.
What is all the rest of your bank information besides the bank routing number and your account number they are asking for? The routing number and account number is what they need.

thank you very much for the help. It's most likely the name difference...
my bank is the largest and the oldest mutual bank in the country by the way... LOL MUCH lager than 90% of the banks on ebay's list... by multi billions in assets...
the information ebay is demanding is absurd, I gave them the routing and account number, that is good enough for my brokerage firm, yet not good enough for podunk ebay?

Are you looking for JP Morgan or Chase; I think they (MP) has it listed as 'Chase'. But again, those 3 things will hold you up. I don't understand why the name thing is so important, but I guess it's because they CAN get into your account on large refunds and pull/freeze that $$, so they are not just depositing, which may be more lenient that when doing both?
But usually it's the Middle Initial, as when opening an account in person, they always want your DL and that always has all names... but typically when people open ebay accts. they just use First & Last..

I do not have a credit union, I have the oldest and largest mutual bank in the nation ROFL.... nor will I ever be in a credit union again, last time I was in a credit union was 20 years ago, I closed my account the day they could not provide me with 8, $100 bills as they stated they do not have that qty of large bills on hand at any time... I immediately closed my account and never looked back... (there were other issues with fees ontop of fees ontop of fees as well... good riddance to them!)

I just checked my ebay account, and I laughed... there is not even a field for middle name or initial... and of course, my bank does have my middle initial...
this just compounds the problems that ebay is creating... this is something I do not want to make use of in the first place, I am quite happy with paypal... so it just adds to the frustration
funny as it is, my bank is now listed in their list... however, when I go to login from their portal, it does not allow me to login, and simply asks if I wish to enter routing information manually...
