Up to you how complicated you want to make this.

When a buyer requests to cancel I always do and use "buyer requested" for the reason. No buyer strike.

If you choose not to cancel, then after 96 hours if the buyer does not pay you will be able to cancel as "buyer did not pay". Buyer gets non-pay strikes.

I never push it. I can relist sooner. I do not have to worry that the buyer will pay to avoid the strikes, and then open a return where I will be paying the shipping both ways, or worse. Buyer could damage the item(s) just to support a false return claim.

OH BOY I am glad I asked, instead of relying on the Ebay info only! I didn't think of all these outcomes! I will cancel now, even though it's been a week He still hasn't paid though! Thanks for the good info!

At this point ( a week) you can and should cancel as buyer did not pay.

Lift your left leg at midnight to start off on the right foot. Happy new Year!

If it's 4 days (96 hours) , definitely cancel WITH BUYER DID NOT PAY.  Block them so that they don't bid on your items again.    Relist.
