eBay gift cards are, like cash money, totally untraceable.

Did you perhaps fall for the classic motor vehicle scam perpetrated by some scammers on FB, CL etc?

Let me guess. You "purchased" a car from another site and were told eBay would handle the payment and to go buy gift cards? Then you gave the scammers the numbers off the back of the cards?

Yep, you were hosed.  As the others have stated, there is no getting your funds back.

eBay gift cards can only be redeemed through eBay checkout. Not by revealing the codes by email or phone or by taking pictures of the card. You've been scammed and there's no recourse. I wish people would read eBay gift card terms before they buy a gift card. It explains how to redeem the cards. You need a PayPal account. You locate the item in My eBay  > Purchase History  when you're ready to pay.  If it's not on eBay it's a scam.

There is no way to find that out.  Perhaps you'd like to return here and explain further.

If you gave your eBay card numbers to a stranger over the internet that you found on Craigslist or Facebook who said they would mail you a car, that stranger used your cards, and their is no car. Sorry that happened to you.
