Starting to'?  They have been getting worse and worse for many years, and this is the last straw for me.

It's hard to believe it is good for eBay, considering the droves of sellers likely to leave eBay for good because of it, and that includes me.  So maybe they WANT to get rid of a lot of small and medium sellers, and this is their way.

Yes, there IS something to fix. A stupid system that makes sellers wait days longer than before for their money, and requires them to give their personal banking into to eBay.   I know they are unlikely to revert back to PayPal, but it was FAR better, and if they don't, I am don't fix this, I am done selling on eBay.   Why is it that PayPal could make your money available almost instantly, but eBay can't?  Makes no sense?

But you need to understand that Ebay is not the unicorn here, PayPal is.  PP fronts sellers the money, they didn't get the funds to clear any quicker than MP does, they just have a different business model.  Ebay's MP system is functioning more in the industry standard for a money processing system.

Casual sellers that have never sold on any site other than Ebay are having the hardest time converting to MP.  Personally I think that is completely understandable since PP is all they have known.  But all the other larger sites like Ebay has systems similar to Ebay's.  It is just the fact of the matter.

This year their hands are full onboarding over 19 million sellers.  Next year as things settle in we are likely to see some enhancements in MP.  Hopefully stuff we like.  Fingers crossed.

Adyen is the money processor.  They handle the actual money.

Everything about the NEW Ebay sucks. They just couldn't leave it alone! Costs are skyrocketing!

While I respect that you don't like the MP system as it is especially hard on Casual Sellers [no store].  But the cost have not gone up much less skyrocketed.  Would you please give a specific example of how you feel the fees have skyrocketed.

@tourn18

The fees in MP have NOT increased overall fees. The following numbers represent those that do not have a store and the fee rate for most common categories [not all].

Fees BEFORE going into MP
10.20% FVF + 2.9% PP fees = 13.10% plus 30 cent per transaction fee.

In MP the fees are:
10.20% FVF + 2.35% money processing fee paid to MP = 12.55% plus a 30 cent per transaction fee.

Starting August 2nd, PayPal is raising their fees, so they will be as follows:
10.20 Ebay FVF + 3.49 PP Fee = 13.69% plus .49 cent Per Transaction fee

PP is apparently offering different fees to different sellers, likely depending on size. From what I've seen it is between 2.59% and 3.49%.

They DON'T CARE about us, and I'd bet anything they will not fix this horrible new payment system.  Somehow they must have thought we'd all roll over and accept it, and they'd make more money off the float time they were holding our money.  We won't, but they won't back down, just like they've stuck to every other stupid change they've made over the years, such as not allowing sellers to give anything but positive feedback to buyers.   Screw you eBAY!

Specific to your complaint about not being able to leave negative FB on buyers.  That was a very good decision by Ebay.  It is BAD business to publicly shame your customers.  Very bad business indeed.  Which is why no other similar site allows it either.

While you may think it is your business and it will only affect your account, that simply is not factual.  Excellent buyers will see this nonsense and be concerned that if the seller has a bad day or they ask the seller a question they don't like that they may post a negative FB on their account.  So instead of risking that they take their business elsewhere.

That was EXACTLY what was happening when Ebay stopped the practice.  I know you aren't likely to agree, but it did happen, history proves it did happen and this decision by Ebay was a good one and benefitted ALL sellers.

Look at it this way.  It is mostly Casual sellers that take issue with the process.  So some have left and more will likely leave before it is all over.  But Ebay will be fine as in evidenced by the 2nd quarter numbers.  In that quarter we GAINED over 1 million sellers.  So if we lost some, that number was swallowed up in the new sellers coming to the site.  Ebay will be just fine.

Small and Medium sellers are far more likely to stay as most know this payment system is not that different, if at all, from other similar sites.

Have to respectfully disagree with you on this one....  Several other sites I use allow a seller to post truthful negative feedback on a buyer when a transaction goes sideways for one reason or another.  They require negative feedback in cases of buyer non-payment.   eBay is the only site I use that specifically prohibits a seller from posting anything other than positive feedback...even if the buyer scams the seller out of the money AND the item, the seller can only post positive feedback on that transaction.   It's definitely the odd duckling, bit its the way that eBay chose to operate with regard to feedback.

Because they loaned you the money.

They don't receive the funds any faster then we do, they also have to wait for the payment to be processed, before they are paid.

Have a great day.

NONE of the other sites similar to Ebay in size allow for this as I said before.  You can disagree with me if you please, that is your right.  But it doesn't change the facts.

Now are there sites out there that allow this, I'm sure there are.  But they are NOT as I described above.

"Truthful" from who's point of view?  Just because a seller posts it does not mean it is truthful.

Ebay is not an "odd duckling"!  Unless Amazon, Etsy, Mercari and likely others.  But these are the sites that are similar to Ebay.

FYI I never made any claim that there are not any sites that allow for sellers to leave negative FB.

It has been my wish for YEARS that Ebay just do away with Buyer Feedback all together.

OK...I am sorry that I misunderstood you.  I thought you were just saying "similar to eBay" meaning a large online auction site....I just commented that I disagreed with your posted comment based on my experience with dealing with multiple large auctions sites that handle negative feedback differently making eBay the "odd duckling" with the places that I sell.

I do agree with you that eBay would benefit greatly by doing away with feedback altogether.   Right now it's basically worthless anyway, so getting rid of it would actually be more fair for all involved.

Ebay hasn't been a "large online auction" site in many years.  80% or better of listings on Ebay are fixed price listings.

I also did not say that I felt Ebay should do "away with feedback altogether".  What I said was IMHO Ebay should do away with Buyer FB.  I was specific, it is fine you just missed it.

I did not realize that eBay was no longer the largest online auction site any longer.   I wonder who has that title now?

I did miss the "Buyer" feedback....but my opinion stands that eBay really ought to do away with all feedback rather than stick with the version they use now.

OMG that has been gone for YEARS.  Here are just a few links.  You can Google it and get more if you'd like.

They are not likely ever going to do away with Seller feedback.

@mam98031

When you say:

"This year their hands are full onboarding over 19 million sellers. "

Do you mean eBay is converting more than 19 million existing sellers to the Managed Payment system?

           ...this year?

Also,   "Next year as things settle in we are likely to see some enhancements in MP. "

Why do you say that? Has there been discussion regarding enhancements?
