receiving a payment

I sold something and the buyer paid me through PayPal but I haven't received the money in my account. When I contacted PayPal they said the money is most likely in an eBay account but I cannot find it. Unfortunately there is no one to speak with at eBay....no phone contact nor email contact so I don't know where else to go. The lady at paypal told me that the problem most likely stems from ebays new seller policies that they have now enforced which I do not know. I did get a notice to update my seller account but it is asking for my social security number which makes me uncomfortable. I would update bank info if they asked for that but SSN seems sketchy. HELP

Re: receiving a payment

I am guessing you are in managed payments now so you will have to give them your ssn. Myself if anyone buys anything I have listed and it happens to me where it does not go to paypal,I will not be shipping item.

I had my notice  to sign up few weeks ago so it is hard to say when &if I sell anything where payment  will go.

Re: receiving a payment

Looking at your listings you are in managed payments. If the payment wint through, you should see it in your payment hub:

https://www.ebay.com/sh/fin/summary

After you are enrolled in MP, it does not matter how the buyer paid for their order. If the paid with GPay, etc you are not going to call GPay etc to confirm it.

Make sure that the message asking you for the SS# is legit. The fact that you are in MP indicates, that ebay already has the necessary information. Log in to ebay and check the status of your account, if ebay needs additional info, there should be a note.

Paypal has nothing to do with ebay anymore, so nobody at Paypal can actually meaningfully help you.
