Sold my first item in years the other day. Funds are cleared by ebay, but I had to set up a bank account or Credit Card for payment to transfer to. I used the same American Express card I use for purchases through ebay for years, but I get the message..

"We couldn't verify this card. Please provide a different card".

Yes all the info is correct, yes I can still use the card for purchases. No, I cannot  use any other card.  Any idea what's going on?

To be paid, you have to provide a checking account.

They can't send your funds to a credit card.

To enroll in Managed Payments you must provide CHECKING ACCOUNT (9-digit routing# only) and SOCIAL SECURITY# (for tax purposes).  Name on checking account, social security card and your EBAY profile page must be EXACT NAME (otherwise your application may be denied).   No nicknames allowed.
