payout holds

Ebay is putting holds on payouts for no reason. I have been with Ebay for twenty years, always used the same bank and same account. Out of the blue, Ebay just grabs my money and will not pay out to my bank. The "excuse" is that I need to verify my bank account and update information. So I went through all the steps to update info, and it still tells me it does not recognize my bank account. Even though I am buying things!! So, Ebay recognizes my bank and account when I buy something, but when I have sold and want my payout, somehow it does not know what bank I am Talking about. This sounds illegal at best. Also, on the list of all the banks you can verify and update, they do not list JP Morgan or Chase. Two of the biggest names in banking, but Ebay does not know these banks??? What a bunch of bull. I will be dumping Ebay as soon as I can my money.

I have two debit cards with 2 banks...one for just receiving payments. Rather easy to do. A debit card with a routing number will work.

And if you hadn't sold a lot in a month or nothing there will be a hold of 30 days on your funds.

Being with eBay for many years and buying is not taken in consideration of a seller.

I do know sellers also have a problem with Bank of America...but Wells Fargo does work.

Ebay made me update my banking...I had to send a photo with heading of "the bank" the first page of a statement. And my bank provided that for free to me. Took a photo and sent it to eBay.

We have all been in your shoes at some point. It does get better.

Did you try both methods for adding the bank account?

There is one where you login to your online banking account to confirm. The other method involves entering the account number and routing number.

Also it must be a checking account and the name & address on the account must match exactly to ebay registration name & address.

Thanks for the support. I am at a loss to understand why Ebay just ignores a huge bank like it does not exist. Trying the micro deposit route. Funny they can somehow make micro deposits into an account they say they do not recognize.

Thanks for the advice, I tried both. I updated my info 7 times! Still nothing. I even have the confirmation emails that my account has been updated, but no. Very frustrating.

ebay is NOT the 'money man'; Adyen is, a Swiss (or??) banking system that does ALL the moneys so THEY are the ones that don't recognize Chase.

Well, not exactly.

If the account does not exist, the deposit will bounce.

If it is not the account of the seller, the seller will not be able to access it and confirm.

So two ways to confirm the  account and owner are the eBay seller.

A note for non-US sellers who may be reading this.

Currency exchange fluctuations can affect micro-deposits. If you have problems with micro-deposits, don't keep repeating the action, use another method of confirming identity.

I used my passport, DH his driving license.

But on one account, after using it with MP for some months, and using it with another eBay account, suddenly it became unacceptable. I just changed to a different bank. And groused and pouted.

Ayden is in the Netherlands.  EBay does have some sort of offices in Switzerland, but not for Managed Payments.

Can you still confirm by giving them your pin number? Then you can go back and change it when they verify.
