payment not showing up

My first sale, buyer paid by credit card and transaction went through to eBay.  The buyer has good reviews and checked the payment had gone through so I shipped. The item is marked sold and delivered and has the exact price I invoiced the buyer. eBay says buyer has not paid but has charged me the eBay fee, I have paid that but the payment has not shown up in my PayPal account 12 days later. Neither eBay nor PayPal note anything pending when I search using the item#. How can I resolve this without labeling the buyer as delinquent?

You use Paypal to receive buyers' payments.

You shouldn't ship until after you've seen the payment transaction in your Paypal account & Paypal says it is OK to do so.

-------------------------------------------------

Payment is directed to a particular Paypal account by the payment email address that was input on the selling form.  By default eBay would have used your eBay email address.

Do you use the same email address for both eBay & Paypal ?

If not, log in to your Paypal account & add your eBay email address to yiour Paypal profile.  Then confirm the email address on Paypal.

-------------------------------------------------

Another thought ... your item sold as a best offer.

Did you send an eBay Invoice or a Paypal invoice?

Sorry but they way you've written this doesn't quite make sense. Every time you sell an item you will receive a message from eBay when your buyer has paid. If you received that message then that's when you ship your item. It makes no sense when you say transaction went through to eBay. Did you in fact receive a message from eBay, through the eBay messaging system, that says your buyer paid? If you did then they paid, if you didn't then then you shipped before payment arrived. Only you can determine as only you can see the messages. Best of luck to you....

If ebay isn't showing as receiving the payment and your paypal account doesn't have the money, the buyer didn't pay.

If you sent the item and it was delivered, you aren't likely to receive payment, but you should open an unpaid item dispute. If the buyer doesn't pay, you can close the case and get a credit for the final value fee.

In the future, NEVER ship an item just because a buyer claims to have paid. You don't ship until the payment is showing in your account.

@ange-5655

Check your listings and make sure you entered the correct Pay Pal email address.

Have a great day.

Thank you. Initially I had a separate email for eBay transactions and so the buyer could not get her Visa payment accepted. I corrected this and she paid, so my PayPal is now in order-plus I paid eBay successfully. But you're right, eBay automatically assigns the email you use for them to the PayPal account- it would make sense to have the option to choose. Thanks to the Community for solving that one.

You get to choose which email address to use when you create the listing. You type it into the appropriate place in the Payments section.
