Currently the most used method for payments is PayPal, but that is quickly changing. The best option if you don't have or can't open a PayPal account is Credit/Debt cards. Credit Cards are safer as many debt cards are not protected as well. If you have a credit card, register it on eBay in your Account>Payment Options. If you happen to have a PayPal account you need to link it to your eBay account in Account>PayPal Account.
Other than those, many sellers are now in Managed Payments which also offer Google Pay and Apple Pay. Those sellers will have Google Pay showing along with credit card icons on their listings.
