managed payment payouts

I am just here to express my dissatisfaction with Ebay and the managed payment system.

It takes so long for this money to hit my account.

It is not better for me in my opinion ,Paypal was better at getting me My money in my account the next day, sometimes even the same day.

Ebay has only made it better for themselves,i see they claim their fees immediately but i have to wait for it to process then wait for it to be in my account.

I sell about 5 to 10 items a month, not the hundreds or thousands like the big Ebay sellers,so i am sure they do not mind being held up.

How about helping the little guy for once???

Re: managed payment payouts

Hi, I am a small hobby seller who is retired on ssi and I dont know what to do without Paypal, so to keep dabbling in eBay buying and selling I hope to be able to still do without hooking up my personal banking account with them, but going to another bank and opening an account just for eBay is an option, I hope you stay on with the folks at eBay, I am sure they will come up with solutions.

I think you are most fortunate that your money makes it to your account at all. 🙂

I joined MP a couple weeks ago and all the transfers to my bank account so far have failed (I know, I know, the account names have to match exactly; I have to have the right type of accounts, etc, etc.  I've read about all that at least 10 times).

With all the hassles of this year and Christmas upon us, I don't have any time at all to devote to untangling an eBay mess.  Like you, I only sell 5-10 items per week, so eBay can keep my money until I have time in the new year to deal with this.  How very eBay.

MP reminds me of eBay's old Billpoint system--it's user facing interface was clunky and hard to deal with (and, I know, I know, this time eBay is using Adyen, which has its own requirements--but to this user MP is clunky and hard to deal with).

Re: managed payment payouts

I am also a small fry seller and I do not like Managed Payments at all. It makes no sense with electronic transfer in a modern world should work on business days. If I sell in the afternoon on Thursday my payout isn't made until Monday. Holding funds does not benefit the seller in anyway but certainly benefits this platform. Today my payment is still processing.

I left Etsy, with  5 successful stores when they forced their buggy payment processing on everyone. I was hesitant to do managed payments here but hoped they would , after so many years be able to handle it better than Etsy. Honestly I wish I did not click the accept for Managed payments.

Paypal gave me every tool I needed to run my small shop, I qualified for 5 loans thru Paypal, had my money in my account with in minutes from sales, the 1 issue I had with Paypal was resolved same day with a human voice behind it. Ebay's managed payments have a long long way to go to get my approval.

I'm a little guy, too. I opted into MP over a year ago. For what it's worth... after you adapt, it's doable. Good luck.

Re: managed payment payouts

I agree! I am so frustrated right now! Money would be in my account immediately when they paid, now I'm waiting almost a week! Who is hiding on to that money? Ebay? Are they collecting interest on it? If that is true, they are making bank with this new program that is supposed to help sellers. Ebay stopped helping sellers a long time ago, in my opinion. I too, only sell an handful of things, from my closet each month. I like having payments go into my PayPal account, where I could let it build up for a family vacation, Christmas....whatever. Now the little I sell, drizzles into my joint bank account and its not the same. I could transfer it to PayPal and then that would take a few days as well. Sellers should have had a choice. I'm ready to pull everything from Ebay and find somewhere else to sell. I only sell from my closet. Has anyone had luck with Poshmark?

If you did not accept MP your selling days on eBay would come to an end.

Most all sellers will be switched over before long.  Exceptions are those with the bulk of their sales in the current restricted categories(coins, and some other) that eBay is supposedly working on.

We either do MP, or we do not sell. If you got the invite(ultimatum) there was no other option on eBay. A bit of a delay, but same end result.

Re: managed payment payouts

I am also a small time seller who depends on this extra income to pay monthly bills.  With that said, I have been in managed payments since August, and it has worked out fine.  I have opted for weekly payouts, makes more sense when my sales are so few.  It is processed in my account on Tuesdays and appears on Wednesdays.

Change is something that we all should of been taught as children.  It is the only constant in life.  Thus learning to adapt is an equally important lesson for us all in everything that we do.

With hope and good thoughts,

Grandma

Don't really see it as big issue.

I understand that those selling to pay their day-to-day bills can be stressed by the wait, but for a casual seller, doing 5-10 items a month, it would seem doable to wait a few days .

Cash flow is an issue for day-to-day bill paying sellers, and the big guys that have to purchase-sell-purchase-sell-purchse-sell, but for us in-betweens, at least for me anyway, waiting for the payment to process works OK.  YMMV

It gets here when it gets here. I have no need for instant gratification.

Not really our money for 30 eBay days anyway. (longer if buyer used PP, or CC)

Re: managed payment payouts

I am frustrated also.  I am a small seller

I have uploaded my bank info and now all of a sudden, Ebay says they need my payout bank info.

I haven't gotten paid for a couple of days due to payments failing, but when I first signed up, the payments went in fine.  Now they "fail"  Ive tried chatting with ebay, but there is no live agent on duty.  I've tried having them do a call back and was told that function is unavailble.

I should not have to track down a way to contact ebay (which I have not so far) to collect my payouts when yesterday the account was fine.  So frustrated and ready to call it quits with ebay

Re: managed payment payouts

I must say it was easy to go to chime just now and get a debit card, it will be here in 2 weeks. I do expect to add 100 dollars of my own money to start to cover mailing, returns and such, this should all go over seamlessly and be transparent, so all good.

Re: managed payment payouts

You should not assume larger sellers don't mind. I can only speak for myself but I hate managed payments. I hate it solely based on principle. There's no reason in my opinion to hold money that doesn't belong to them especially when they take their fees right off the top.

Re: managed payment payouts

Have you tried contacting Adyen? It is, afterall, their payment system... and it is your money.

Perhaps you'll have more luck than you would with, for example, FedEx trying to resolve an eBay shipping label overcharge.

Re: managed payment payouts

I'd bet money it will be just like PayPal. You call Adyen and they'll say, "you'll need to contact eBay". Then you'll contact eBay and they'll say, "you need to contact Adyen".
