How does ebay determine when to charge an insertion fee? I get 250 free listings each month. I keep my inventory at 250 and never exceed it. This month I was charged for 8 insertion fees. Last month I was charged for 13 insertion fees.
This is so frustrating. I do not make enough profit as is to be giving away .35 for x amount of items a month. If I could understand their process I could avoid this insertion fee. BUT I CANNOT understand it. It is frustrating me.

It has happen to me in the past also. I called Ebay customer service. Pointed out that I never went over my 250. Requested that they refund me the amounts on each & every month that it happened. They did. It is worth your time and effort to do so.

You have 249 live listings now and in June sold 13 - were some of these listed during the same month?

I see you have 250 listed right now and sold 14 this month, that 264 for this month
You owe insertion fee's for 14 listings.
The 250 is the total for the month, including what has sold and current listings.

To clarify. If I start with 250 sell 5 then relist 5 that counts as 255? So I should wait until the next month to list anything new? So start a month with 250 sell some that month and do not relist until the next month?

Exactly.
