eBay not using PayPal anymore?

I got a message from eBay saying to update my account details.

"It’s now simpler to get paid on eBay

Getting paid has changed: Fees and expenses will be deducted before you get paid out and the remainder of your earnings will go directly to your bank account, not your PayPal account. Get set up in a few easy steps."

I primarily just tend to leave all the money I receive in my PayPal, so I wanted to ask for clarification: does this mean sellers can no longer use PayPal as a means of payment? We have to store the money in a bank account now?

I also saw something saying eBay raised their fees. Is that also true?

Where is the setting in m.p. to make your credit card your payment from? Mine say's "Payout method Bank ..." Next to that it says edit. But then it just gives me an option to change bank accounts, not a credit card.

How can I tell if I'm with this PayWithMyBank and how do I get out of it if I am? Drop to the bottom of what screen?

You would know if you used this function as they would have asked you for your bank account online login password.  I think you would remember that.

Not everyone sees this.  It only shows up to some sellers when Mp is having problems with the bank information they gave to MP.  So it is a specific screen these seller would have access through a link in that email notification.  And that would be the screen to drop down to the bottom and see the other option.

With that said, if you have ANY concern about this whatsoever.  All you need to do is go and change your password on your online banking account.  Problem solved.  

This just isn't as big, bad and scary as some want to make it out to be.

The instructions are here but they seem a little off.  When I click on the Seller Account button it takes me to a obsolete page that does not have "Look for Payment methods for seller fees and select Change."

I actually had that filled out a long time ago but after our last conversation I checked it and it wasn't any longer filled out, so I fixed that.  I will have to wait until I have more international shipping before I will know if it works like it did for you.  Fingers crossed.

I also had it filled out a long time ago set to charge a credit card and it had always worked just fine until this last time it was changed to coming out of checking.

There have been a awful lot of changes in the last few months.  My guess is with changes sometimes things get reset the the default settings.

The 3rd link worked. Then "Choosing your payment method...." then not  "Valid payment method", but under "Adding a new payment method", "Payments" in blue takes you right there to several options of payment.

Well thank you for that information.  I never got these types of emails when my account went to a negative balance for some international shipping charges from April and May earlier this week.  This is very interesting.

@mam98031 Thanks for the tag! I would highly recommend reaching out to a payments trained teammate to report what you're seeing on your account in terms of when we charge your top up, so they can provide more information on the specific transactions.

NEVER keep your money at PayPal!

They kept blocking accounts for me just because they felt like doing it. They keep all your hard earned money blocked for an unreasonable time.

Eventually, they can take the money from your account to "cover damages".

PayPal just stole $3300 from my Paypal account - no details, no explanations!!

Thank you, however it is unlikely they can answer the question.  They aren't as trained as one might think they are.  As it frequently noted on all kinds of threads, what they tell someone is often incorrect.  But thank you again.

Wow so with PayPal I had my money and could use my money instantly, now I have to wait 3-5 business days before I can use my funds? That's straight trash eBay, step up your game.
